Holy Matter | During a three year “artist’s block,” the filmmaker intuited that her problem was primal and Reichian, connected to dreams in which authority figures and strangers disrupted her ability to take a healthy shit. What about others? Have they been similarly traumatized? The filmmaker conducts a startlingly frank series of mini-interviews, in which video makers, poets, various artistic people burst out with a trail of toilet memories and dreams, simultaneously humorous and horrifying, and usually shrouded in shame. It’s undeniably liberating, like a royal flush.
